VISIONSTATEMENT

Our vision at House of David Ministries is to bring people into deeper relationship with their Lord and Savior, Jesus (Joh 4:23), and to cross cultural and multi-national boundaries by bringing American and International College students, and other young adults together in a spirit of unity, teaching and equipping them to go into the nations to make disciples of all people, (Mat 28:19).

The House of David is a place that calls forth the manifest presence of God, and where the fullness of God's love is felt. It is a place that moves in the gifts of the spirit, and the spirit of prophesy, (1Co 12:4, Rev 19:10). It is a place that invites those who are called: "Men and women after God’s own heart," (1Sa 13:14). It is a place for those who are called: "A chosen race, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, and a people for God's own possession," (1Pe2:9). It is a place for those who desire nothing from this world, but only to be in the presence of the Lord and to gaze on His beauty all the days of their life. (Psa 27:4).

The House of David is place for personal growth and transformation, and a place to teach, equip and release people into their God given callings. It is a place that obeys the great new commandment: "That we love each other as Christ has loved us, so that the world will know that we are His disciples," (Joh 13:34). It is place for development of relationships and deep eternal friendships, (Mat 6:20). It is a place for healing and reconciliation between cultures and nations, (Eph 2:14). It is a place for those who desire to share the love of God with the world.

WHOWEARE

The House of David is an independent discipleship ministry. It is under the spiritual covering and blessing of the Sierra Butte Baptist Association, which encompasses 30 churches in the six Northern California counties of Butte, Colusa, Glenn, Sutter, Tehama and Yuba. The ministry is open to anyone, but it has a specific calling to disciple and lift up a younger generation of spiritual leaders. The ministry serves as a resource for, and has partnered with other college ministries at Chico State University. It crosses cultural and multi-national boundaries, bringing American and international students, and other young adults together in unity of prayer, worship, teaching, and discipleship; and developing and equipping them to go into the nations to make disciples of all people.

Eric M. Teitelman, Pastor and Leader
Eric is a Jewish believer in Christ. He was born in the United States and raised in Israel for much of his childhood. While abroad he attended a school for Rabbinical studies, and lived in a community of Jewish people from all around the world. With a firm knowledge of Old Testament scriptures and a deep understanding of Jewish culture, he brings a Hebrew/Judaic perspective to the New Testament teachings of Christ. Eric and his wife Kim, and their two children Breanna and Evan live in Chico, California. Eric is ordained as a pastor through the Southern Baptist Convention, and teaches throughout the region at various churches, and at The Prayer House. Eric also loves to play guitar and lead worship.

Jamie Brezinski, Leader
Jamie Brezinski is an International Student Ministry (ISM) staff worker for InterVarsity Christian Fellowship. She is currently serving her third year at Chico State. Even before committing to full time ministry among international students, Jamie has always had a heart for international people. Her experiences with InterVarsity and studying Spanish as a college student has helped to shape her passion and desire to work among internationals. Her mother is from South Korea and her father is from Ohio. She has grown up with a strong identity to both American and Korean culture, and this has helped her significantly in her personal life and in ministry. What Jamie enjoys most about this ministry is sharing God's love with international students and connecting them to Jesus for the first time or helping them in their journey with him. This ministry also allows her to appreciate God's diversity of different cultures, ethnicities, languages and food! Jamie enjoys cooking and spending quality time with friends.

WHATWEDO

The House of David provides a place for small group prayer, worship, teaching, and discipleship. Prayer and worship are integral for our growth in our relationship with the Lord, and it prepares our hearts for the teachings and discipleship. The worship is small and intimate, with a focus on combined prayer and intercession for the nations. Students are invited to sing and pray over their countries in their native languages, while others join them in intercession.

The discipleship teachings are Christ focused, with an emphasis towards understanding the scriptures from a Hebrew/Judaic perspective. The teachings vary depending on the spiritual maturity of the students, and depending on their areas of spiritual interest. The settings are small and casual, allowing for considerable interaction and dialogue.

There are two strong cultural components emphasized at the House of David: food and music. It is an expression of the beauty contained within each culture so that we may all learn and grow in love for the peoples of the earth, and so that the glory of the nations will flow to God’s throne in Jerusalem.

The House of David is set up as a Wi-Fi hot spot so that students can come to the house for study and meditative prayer time. Streaming audio from web based ministries is also broadcast at the House. The ministry is connected to several online communities, and is developing a small, but growing network of American and international students, and young adults.

  2. We believe that God is Love and that He is good, and that there is no darkness in Him, but only truth and light. (Mar 10:18, Joh 1:14, 1Jn 1:5, 1Jn 4:8, 1Jn 4:16)
  3. We believe in One God, co-eternal without beginning or end, and co-equal and manifest as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. (Gen 1:26, Mat 28:19)
  4. We believe that man and woman were created in the image of God and given free will to choose life or death. (Gen 2:17)
  5. We believe that the first man and woman, Adam and Eve rebelled against God and fell away from God's presence into a life and nature of sin, and that apart from God, all of humanity has inherited their sinful disposition. (Gen 2:17, Gen 3:23-24, Gen 6:5, Rom 3:23)
  6. We believe that Jesus (Yeshua) is the Son of God, and is the Word of God manifest to humanity in the flesh; born of a virgin by the power of the Holy Spirit. (Isa 7:14, Isa 9:6, Joh 1:4)
  7. We believe that all men and woman have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God, and that without the shedding of blood, there is no remission of sin. (Lev 17:11, Rom 3:23)
  8. We believe that Jesus is the savior (Messiah) of the world and the King of Israel, and that He died on the cross to offer His sinless body and shed His sinless blood as a sacrificial offering to pay for our sins. (Isa 53:4-12, Mat 2:2, Joh 3:16, 2Co 5:21)
  9. We believe that in shedding His blood that He perfectly fulfilled the laws of the old covenant made with Israel, and has made a new covenant with the House of Israel and the House of Judah. (Isa 59:21, Jer 31:31)
  10. We believe that in shedding His blood and by opening the doors of salvation to the world, that God has made an everlasting covenant with the gentiles. (Isa 55:3, Rom 9:24)
  11. We believe that Jesus gave a new commandment in the offering of the new covenant; that we would love each other as He has loved us, so that the world would know that we are His disciples. (Joh 13:34-35)
  12. We believe that Jesus descended into the place of the dead for three days, was resurrected to eternal life to demonstrate His power over sin and death, and has ascended to heaven to sit at the right hand of the Father to intercede on our behalf. (Mat 12:40, Mat 26:64, Luk 4:18, Act 13:33-34, Heb 7:25)
  13. We believe that we did not choose God first, but that He first chose us, and that He gave us the gift of faith so that we might believe in Him and in His Son's atoning works on the cross. (Eph 1:4, 1Jn 4:19)
  14. We believe that Jesus is the only way, the only truth, and the only life of man, and that all those who believe in their hearts, and call on the name of the Lord to ask for His forgiveness are given the free gift of resurrection and eternal life, and are given the right to be called Children of God (Joh 1:12, Joh 3:15, Joh 14:6, Rom 10:9).
  15. We believe that our free gift of resurrection and eternal life is accepted by faith in Jesus only, and not by any works of the old covenant laws, or the good works of man. (Rom 3:23-28)
  16. We believe in the baptism and indwelling of the Holy Spirit. (Mat 3:11, Joh 14:17)
  17. We believe in the power of the Holy Spirit to make us into a new creation in Christ, and that His perfect works in us will be completed so that we will see His face and become just like Him in nature and attribute. (2Co 5:17, 1Jn 3:2)
  18. We believe in the gifts of the Holy Spirit. (Joe 2:28, 1Co 12:4-11, Heb 2:4, 2Pe 1:21)
  19. We believe in the Fruit of the Spirit and in the demonstration of our faith through the work of God’s Spirit in us, so that the world would see our good works and glorify God in heaven. (Mat 5:16, Gal 5:22, Heb 6:11)
  20. We believe in the great commission given by Jesus; to go into the nations to make disciples of all people. (Mat 28:19)
  21. We believe that the wall of hostility contained within the old covenant laws and statutes were fulfilled perfectly in Jesus, thereby breaking down this wall hostility and making both Jew and Gentile into One New Mankind. (Eph 2:15)
  22. We believe that Israel is the natural seed of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, that she is God’s inheritance and chosen people, that she has been left desolate because of her rejections of Jesus, yet that God will fulfill His promises and blessings to Israel to make her a blessing to all peoples of the earth. (Jer 10:16, Isa 4:2, Isa 27:6, Isa 41:8, Isa 44:1, Isa 45:4)
